More Than Just A Moment

Our America is in rough shape. It has been this way for quite some time, no? Decades. Hundreds of years passed built up for the weight of 2020. We were fooled – we thought 2020 would bring next level technology in the form of hover cars and advanced robots. Instead it brought on a wave of woke. And not just to our damaged America, but to the world; to wake up and finally realize that we need to have processes in place to protect our people of color. Existence is owed to people of color, however, the majority has learned to take all the credit and power. That is what we call a white construct society, my friends.

2020 | BLM Protest

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Even in the midst of a health crisis, hundreds of cities gathered together all over the world to take part in Black Lives Matter protests. Spawning from the late George Floyd, people all over were fed up. Naturally, police were seen as targets since they were (and are) the reason for the constant brutality and toleration of killing innocent Black and Brown people. Sadly enough, this is not only an issue in the States. Police brutality against Black and Brown people and racist statues are present in many countries, like England, for example. In countries where this is less of an issue, support was shown in the media through frequent BLM protests and memorials.

The fight for freedom, liberation and justice did not stop there. Instead, it began and because of that, many corporations have even buckled down and added diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) departments to ultimately ensure there are processes in order to support, protect and respect people of color.
