About

Benvenuta, I’m Cyd! *she/her* Welcome to my blog!

I’m originally from Tampa, Florida and currently living the California (expensive ass) dream in San Francisco.

For those of you who are now getting to know me, in December 2020, I received a MA in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. In 2017, I received a BA in Communication with a minor in Anthropology from Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, FL. As you can see I am very passionate about my travels, hence, my blog.

I love to explore. While in undergrad, I received two scuba diving certifications. I also studied abroad in Greece. During my gap year (and a half), I moved to Italy for six months where I worked as an au pair. On my weekends off, I did a bit of solo traveling throughout Europe meeting new friends as well as reconnecting with friends from Eckerd. Since then I went skydiving at least twice. Now that I have finished my master’s degree, I hope to someday work in Europe. I am currently figuring out what I want to do in the sports industry, however, I have a growing passion for diversity, equity and inclusion (a hot commodity for any company these days). I know post-grad life can be a tough transition, however, I’m willing to learn and stay engaged to latch onto new and exciting opportunities.

I know it’s cliché for people to say they want to be happy, but honestly, that’s what I need. My mom recently passed away on November 13, 2019. We didn’t have nearly enough time together. I have spent so much of my time being afraid to take risks or face reality and the truth is I’m tired of it. This is my time to do what makes my mom proud. Everything I do, I do for her. Additionally, I am proud to uphold myself to the same values that respect any and everyone.

I am fearless and I am unapologetically Black.

Thank you
